Spicy Sriracha Fried Chicken
This recipe is from my brother who, like me, enjoys, cooking and eating. A crispy, Sriracha spicy, moist and tender fried chicken. Can be served with more spicy dipping sauce to accentuate the flavors or a cool dipping sauce to cool down the palate.
Ingredients
Chicken
- 1 lb chicken wings, cut into sections
- 1 to 3 tsp Sriracha sauce, adjust according to taste (or any other chili paste)
- 1 to 2 tsp garlic powder
- 1 to 3 tsp crushed pepper flakes or hot chilli oil
- 1 egg
- ¼ cup flour
- ½ tsp salt
- Oil for deep frying
Cool Cucumber Dressing
- ½ cup sour cream
- ½ cup plain yogurt
- ½ tsp garlic powder
- 0.5 cucumber, ground in mini chopper
- ½ tsp lime/lemon juice
- salt, pepper to taste
Spicy dipping sauce
- 1 to 2 tsp Worcheshire sauce
- 2 tbsp sriracha sauce
- ½ tsp garlic powder powder
- 2 tbsp tabasco sauce
- ½ lime, juiced
Directions
Chicken
- Mix all chicken ingredients and marinade chicken wings for 1-8 hrs refrigerated.
- Deep fry until browned and cooked through.
- May serve with spicy dipping sauce and cool cucumber dipping sauce (see below).
Cool Cucumber Dressing
- Mix all ingredients for "Cool Cucumber Dressing" together and serve with chicken wings.
Spicy Dipping Sauce
- Mix all ingredients for "Spicy Dipping Sauce" together and serve with chicken wings.
